State Updates
Gov. Baker is issuing an order to protect health care professionals from lawsuits in the event they are sued for difficult decisions made about the treatment of COVID-19 patients
The state has developed guidelines for which patients will have access to ventilators in a worst-case scenario
The state will start publicly disclosing data on the race and ethnicity of COVID-19 patients who test positive
Legislative Updates
Gov. Baker will file legislation to extend liability protection to health care workers during the COVID-19 pandemic
Massachusetts Nurses Association sent Governor Baker a letter outlining their legislative priorities to protect nurses and other licensed health care professionals, volunteers and new medical school graduates
Over 900 doctors, nurses and other health care professionals sent a second petition to the governor with 12 demands, including stopping construction and issuing a tighter stay-at-home advisory.
Federal Updates
The White House has requested additional stimulus funding for the SBA Payroll Protection Program
