Official Statement on Racist Incident

On Friday, October 23, 2020 at 8 p.m., I issued the following statement:

It has come to my attention this evening that there is a racist display at a home in our district. I will not further agitate the pain of our Black community members by sharing this image or providing any additional details, but let me say this: I abhor this racist behavior and call on every single person in our district to support our Black neighbors by calling out this despicable behavior. Hate has no home here. Racism has no home here. And I will continue to shout this from the rooftops until we have eradicated hate and systemic racism in all of our communities.
