COVID-19 Update - March 24, 2020

 

In this update:

Current Status of COVID-19:

  • Total Cases in MA: 382 today; 1,159 total

  • Total Deaths in MA: 9

  • Total Tests in MA: 4,827 today; 13,749 total

About COVID-19:

  • Symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath

  • Emergency “warning” signs: trouble breathing, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, bluish lips or face

  • If you think you have COVID-19:

    • If you think you have been exposed to COVID-19 and develop a fever and symptoms, such as cough or difficulty breathing, call your healthcare provider, local board of health or the Massachusetts State Epidemiology line at (617) 983-6800

    • If you develop emergency warning signs, seek medical attention immediately

  • How to prevent it:

    • Stay home - act as though you have it, not that you might catch it

    • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds

    • Avoid touching your face (eyes, nose, mouth)

    • Clean and disinfect surfaces often
